MacroFactor alternative: macros by message, with a coach you talk to

MacroFactor adjusts your macros every week from your data. Fabee logs a meal from one message and talks you through your numbers. Here's how they compare.

Short answer: as a MacroFactor alternative, Fabee logs a meal from one message or a photo and talks you through your day in plain words. MacroFactor is built for people who love the numbers. It watches your weight and your food and adjusts your macro targets every week. If weekly adaptive targets are what you want, MacroFactor is made for that.

We make Fabee. Everything about MacroFactor below comes from its own website and App Store listing, checked 5 October 2026. Prices change, so check before you pay.

What Fabee does differently

  • Macros from one message. “Greek yogurt, a banana and two spoons of peanut butter.” Fabee logs the calories, protein, carbs and fat of each part. No search, no scale. A photo works too.
  • A coach you talk to. Ask “why did my weight stall this week?” and it answers from your own log, in plain words.
  • Fixing in words. “It was 200 g of chicken, not 150” and the card updates.
  • It looks things up. A restaurant’s own numbers, found on the web for you.
  • It remembers you. Your training days, your allergies, the shake you have every morning. Tell it once.

Coming: vitamins and minerals next to the macros. Planned: Android.

Who might prefer MacroFactor

If you lift, love data and want the app to set your targets for you week by week, MacroFactor is built exactly for that. It’s on Android today, it imports your Apple Health or Google Fit history now, and the same team makes a workouts app. It also says plainly that it doesn’t sell your data.

Questions

Does Fabee track macros? Yes: calories, protein, carbs and fat for every food, every meal and the whole day.

Does Fabee adjust my targets? Not on its own yet. Fabee sets your targets from your goal and talks you through your progress in the chat. Targets that move with a weekly review are coming.

Is Fabee free? There’s no free version. A 3-day free trial runs in many countries, then it’s $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year.

Is Fabee out yet? It’s on iPhone now. Download it on the App Store.
